Whoop Whoop...i cant wait for the draw, but i pray to god we dont get an english team, not because im scared of them, but because the entertaining thing about the CL is that you get to see your team up against the best teams in europe...outside of england....england on england is just dull

Champs league last 8, I had a bloke come and ask me to put a bet on for him today, when I did it for him he told me he'd heard the CL quarters were fixed and were going to be one of these 2
Arsenal vs Manchester United Barcelona vs Villarreal Bayern M vs Chelsea Liverpool vs Porto
Arsenal vs Manchester United Barcelona vs Villarreal Bayern M vs Liverpool Chelsea vs Porto
He seemed a bit weird so I'm ignoring the advice, guess I'll know for sure on Friday. What do you think?

As the European club competition season reaches its closing stages, UEFA's House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland, will host the draws for the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup on Friday. Both UEFA club competition draws will be transmitted live on uefa.com and on Eurosport. The UEFA Champions League draw will be made at 12.00CET and will be conducted by UEFA General Secretary David Taylor and the ambassador for the Rome final, Bruno Conti. The UEFA Cup draw will follow at 13.00CET and will be conducted by Mr Taylor and the ambassador for the Istanbul final, Can Bartu. The eight winners of the ties played in the first knock-out round of the UEFA Champions League will contest the quarter–finals, with the pairings determined by an open draw. This means that clubs from the same national association may be drawn against each other. The quarter-finals are played on a home-and–away basis, with the first legs played on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 April and the return legs on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 April. The four winning teams will, at that stage, know who they will meet in the semi-finals, as the pairings will also be decided during the draw ceremony. The first legs of the semi-finals will be played just two weeks later, on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 April, with the second legs to be staged on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 May. A further small draw ceremony will also define whether the winner of semi-final 1 or the winner of semi-final 2 will be considered, for administrative purposes, as the 'home' team at the final to be played on Wednesday 27 May at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome at 20.45CET. The same procedure will apply for the draw for the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the UEFA Cup. The quarter-final matches will be played on 9 and 16 April, and the semi-finals on 30 April and 7 May. The final match will take place at the Þükrü Saracoðlu Stadium in Istanbul on Wednesday 20 May at 21.45 local time (20.45CET). uefa.com

uefa.com rounds up the statistics you need to know ahead of this week's first legs in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. What's the history between the two teams and who has the edge from past contests? Which sides are looking to overturn the weight of history? Who's performing well on the domestic front? Find out below. Manchester United FC v FC Porto• United are unbeaten in 21 matches in the UEFA Champions League and enter this contest also aiming to extend a run of 19 games without defeat at Old Trafford in the competition. • Porto have never won in England, where ten of eleven visits have ended in defeat, although the one occasion when they did avoid defeat – a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in the 2003/04 first knockout round second leg – eliminated United from the competition. • This is United's 15th quarter-final tie in Europe's élite club competition and their record is: P14 W10 L4. • Sir Alex's men beat AS Roma at this stage in both 2007 and 2008 and are now seeking a third consecutive semi-final appearance – a first for the English champions. • Porto have won three of their five quarter-finals in Europe's premier club competition and have triumphed in two of the clubs' three previous two-legged contests. Villarreal CF v Arsenal FC• This tie is a repeat of the 2005/06 semi-final, won 1-0 by Arsenal thanks to Kolo Touré's first-leg goal in the last European match played at Highbury – although the London club needed a last-minute penalty save by Jens Lehmann from Juan Román Riquelme in the second leg to escape El Madrigal with a goalless draw. • Villarreal's record against English clubs is: P9 W3 D5 L1. At home their record is: P5 W2 D3 L0. In those five past meetings with English opposition at El Madrigal, they conceded just one goal scored, curiously, by a Spaniard – Everton FC's Mikel Arteta. • Arsenal have lost three European finals to Spanish opposition. They lost 5-4 on penalties to Valencia CF following a goalless draw in the 1979/80 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup final and succumbed 2-1 to Real Zaragoza in the final of the same competition in 1994/95 before a 2-1 defeat by FC Barcelona in the 2005/06 UEFA Champions League final in Paris. • That defeat by Barcelona was Robert Pirès' final appearance for Arsenal after six seasons with the club, during which he won two Premier League titles and two FA Cups. Voted the English Football Writers' Player of the Year in 2002, he made 284 appearances, scoring 84 goals, before moving to Villarreal in summer 2006. • Villarreal have kept only four clean sheets in their last 30 matches in all competitions having managed six in their opening nine games this season. In contrast, Arsenal have kept clean sheets in six of their last eight Premier League games, and have conceded only four league goals in 2009 – all away from home – fewer than any other side. FC Barcelona v FC Bayern München• Bayern and Barcelona are the joint-highest scorers in this season's competition with 24 goals each from eight games. In Barcelona's case they have also conceded the most goals of any of the last-eight participants – eleven – and have still to keep a clean sheet on home soil. • The visitors are looking to improve on a recent record of three consecutive defeats at this stage of the UEFA Champions League – in 2002, 2005 and 2007. • Bayern have won three of the four previous meetings with Barcelona but the Liga leaders boast an impressive run of form against German opposition having won ten and drawn one of their last eleven matches against sides from the Bundesliga. • Coaches Josep Guardiola and Jürgen Klinsmann were both in action when Barcelona and Bayern met for the first time in the semi-finals of the 1995/96 UEFA Cup. The teams drew 2-2 in Munich before Bayern – with Klinsmann again present, but Guardiola absent – advanced to the final with a 2-1 success at Camp Nou. • Thierry Henry's next goal in the UEFA Champions League will be his 50th in the competition. Liverpool FC v Chelsea FC• This is the fourth time in five seasons the teams have met in the knockout stages, following semi-final contests in 2005, 2006 and 2008. On each previous occasion the team playing the second leg at home progressed. • Five-times European champions Liverpool can take heart from home-and-away wins against their opponents in the Premier League this season – not to mention an unbeaten home run in the UEFA Champions League that stretches to ten matches, including qualifiers. • Both teams have formidable recent records when it comes to surmounting this particular hurdle: Liverpool won quarter-finals in 2005, 2007 and 2008, while Chelsea advanced in 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008. • Chelsea have not won any of their last six away matches in the UEFA Champions League, while Liverpool are unbeaten in five home meetings with Chelsea and won the last Anfield encounter 2-0 in February thanks to Fernando Torres goals after 89 and 90 minutes. • Liverpool have won four of six previous two-legged contests against English sides in UEFA club competition. In addition to their UEFA Champions League successes against Arsenal FC in last season's quarter-finals and those Chelsea ties, they beat Tottenham Hotspur FC on away goals in the 1972/73 UEFA Cup semi-finals following a 2-2 aggregate draw. ©uefa.com

1-1 at half time for the Liverpool v Chelsea game. We came out on fire, Kuyt with a little back heel flick to Arbeloa, he crosses it in, Torres takes it first time into the bottom right corner. Chelsea could have evened it up right away after capitalizing on a Liverpool defensive mistake, but Drogba (of course) shot it right into Reina's crotch..Ouch. The game was a bit frantic after that. Liverpool still haven't quite settled down. Defense looks shaky, Lucas looks bad. Aurelio looks shaky. Chelsea has been sort of a start and stop. Can't seem to string too many passes together in the final third. Then comes a corner in the 38', Ivanovic heads it in just past Reina. Damnit. Kuyt almost took advantage of John Terry's blunder, but did a Drogba. This might sound stupid, but who goes through after the 2 legs? Is it based on aggregate, away goals, or win-loss?

Alright It's decided on aggregate, if those scores are level, then away goals, if those are level as well, it's extra time and if needed, penalties...

I am absolutely devestated right now, I got teary eyed, thats how bad it is. I don't even know what to say except for our back line was absolute s***, Aurelio was absolute s***, Dossena was absolute s***, Lucas was absolute s***, Gerrard was a shadow of his usual self, Xabi was the same as Gerrard. Only Torres and Kuyt played reasonably well, and thats pushing it. Well, credit where credit is due, Chelsea played well and capitalized on all of our mistakes. What made me smile a little bit though is that our fans were still singing YNWA even after the third goal. Shows the passion of the supporters. Terry will be suspended for the next leg, so hopefully this will be a kick in our asses and we will come back stronger. We have to win 3-1 to go to penalty kicks, or 3-0 to advance cleanly. Not impossible, but highly unlikely. But then again, who thought that we were gonna beat the Mancs 4-1 at OT? My parents are being kinda sarcastic sad right now, this was a perfect game for them. I am not sleeping at this house tonight. I need to get out. And I need a f****** shot of something really strong.

briliant performance by the blues. Absolutely brilliant. I blame zonal marking for both of Ivanovic's goals, you just cannot allow players to have the space. good on him for taking his opportunities though. Bring on the second leg!!!

Our defending was absolutely appalling, Chelsea could have had double on another night the amount of space they were getting, I've not seen us let a team get in behind us like that for a long time. The attack wasn't any better, not creating a single chance in the second half is unforgivable. Huge uphill task now, but after putting 4 past United at OT, and Chelsea being without Terry I won't be throwing in the towel just yet.

Last night. Chelsea were fantastic, really on top of their game and we were poor. When is Rafa gonna realise this zonal marking thing is costing us bad. It's a big ask to go to the bridge and score three without reply, even with Chelsea missing Terry (who was harshy carded I thought). Hiddink got it just right, especially by using Essien to keep Gerrard quiet.
It's not beyond us though to overturn it. Istanbul 2005? Who knows, next week we might play like Chelsea did last night and they play as poorly as we did. It's improbable but not impossible. Believe!!!!!
