One last thing I want to say about Liverpool. I'd like to ask RB why he picked Babel, who is completely s**** and loses the ball every time he gets it, ahead of Riera, who for me was one of our best players last season and can beat defenders with guile. Also why on earth is Benayoun used as an impact sub. As soon as he came on against Spurs he was runnng at their derence and causing them problems. I think he's a great player who creates openings and bags the odd goal too. If Rafa's system isn't compatible with Yossi starting I hope he sees sense and finds a system that is.

nah andy, i still think he did. i was pretty pissed off before that penalty appeal too. he was being inconsistent with his calls. and you are right about the handball actually, i watched it again and it actually hit his chest. the voronin one def. shoulda been called though as it was denying an obvious goal scoring oppurtunity, and he made no attempt to play the ball; so it shoulda been a red card and a penalty by law. and i know we were s***, im not blaming the ref for that, but he was s*** on top of us being s***, and thats a lotta s*** in one game. but now enough of the shoulda been and coulda been, and more of the can be and will be only first game of the season, we improve and move on! A few posts ago, you were saying it was the title race over? Good result for Spurs, thought Liverpool were poor though tbh.

the way it is at the top though you can't afford to lose many games which if Liverpool keep playing like that...they will

Briiliant Burnley. Even whisky nose didn't begrudge them the win. Great result for Wolves too. We really needed that result last night. I'm glad Benitez dropped Babel and started with Yossi, he had a really good game, but Glen Johnson was brilliant at right back. Bombing forward, cutting inside into the box, creating chances and grabbibg obne himself, nice bicycle kick too.

United were poor and I think as per usual Ferguson went out there and underestimated a smaller team! Micheal Owen should play with Berbatov or Rooney should play with...Macheda. I dont see Owen Rooney working...and I think Rooney hates Berbatov Then again, Owen and Rooney had some decent link up play...who knows

Owen couldn't hit a cow's a.rse with a banjo at the moment, long may it continue. Look at what Redknapp is doing with Spurs. I know it's early days but they look really good at the moment. Defoe is on fire.

Defoe was always a top quality player! When he was left at at Spurs before I always thought it was madness and that's been proven by the fact they sold him...and had to bring him back. Spurs look sharp and if they could get King able to play every other game they will do great this season! Because he was deadly in the first match. Still though, Spurs will drop off in the middle or towards the end of the season. Still not good enough for top 4 but a massive improvement from last season I'd say! Also...did anyone watch Soccer Special last night...poor Paul Merson lol. He had a horrid night with predictions

10 goals in 2 games..... Arsenal were brilliant at the weekend, superb flowing football. For me, when they're on form, they're still the most pleasing on the eye. I think we'll hurt Villa tonight, they've got off to a really poor start.

I think it'll be harder then you're suggesting because despite the start Villa are still a very tough team. However I do think Liverpool will secure all three points. 2-1 to Liverpool, maybe 2-0

I'll take either, so long as it's 3 points

Liverpool are 2-0 down apparently. Lucas own goal and a Davis header from a corner on stroke of half time giving Villa the lead!!!

They got everybody behind the ball in the second half, but I've no complaints, they play to their strengths and deserved the win. We were pathetic. 3 games into the season and we've already lost as many matches as we did last season. Benitez says our title challenge isn't over. One more game like that and I'll be disagreeing with him.

In fairness ye lost to two top 8 teams which I think is respectable. true that ye cant afford to keep getting results like this and I think a lot more team will fancy their chances against ye now because of this result

Ok, to lose away to Spurs is easier to accept. Even if they'd not hit the ground running their place is always difficult to go to. We really should be beating Villa at home though. It's not necessarily that we lost, but how we lost.

Exactly Rafa, we were horrid in the first half, didn't see the second, heard we were much better then though. Friedel was on excellent form as well. But we have to forget about the loss and move on to Bolton on Saturday. We can do this, keep the faith as Reina said. The lads need all of the supporters behind them right now, they need the 12th man (men?) the most when we lose like this. You'll Never Walk Alone

I figured Bolton would be really up for this Liverpool game after seeing them lose to Villa but so far I've seen very little drive forwards. Think benitez needs to mix it up a bit...perhaps sub Gerrard because they have him pegged so far
