Pleasantly suprised to see us finish strongly with a win. With nothing to play for and Boro fighting relegation desperately, was kind of expecting us to roll over for them. Relegating them was quite sweet as well, not their biggest fan and I think Southgate is a useless manager who really dosen't belong in the Premiership, fucked if I know how he's managed to stay in his job so long!

Chelsea haven't looked that great in this match! Few moments but really having had all the possession....not much end product! Few pot shots and a sitter from Drogba missed!
HT: 1-1 and Hull should be delighted really even though it was more a dive then anything which got the free for Chelsea!

2nd half they played fantastic Chelsea...asides from Deco, I didn't really feel that he was any better than Malouda but really they created chance after chance. Should have been 5 or 6 in the end but for some wasteful finishing! Good result in the end though...
FT: Chelsea 2 Hull City 1

f*** you Stephen Hunt. What a class winner by Drogba.
I think Deco improved upon Malouda. I felt that his passing was better.

Why do ye hate Stevie Hunt? he's a good lad, tricky little player too. I really like him EDIT: Yeah maybe you're right but I dunno...Deco's crossing wasn't the best was it and he was far to eager to drive the ball over the bar then he was to pick a pass to a player in a better position. No matter, thought Kalou looked lively, would really like to see him get involved more

City scored quite a pretty goal in this game but other then that they have been average. At the back they looks as weak as a snowball in a volcano. Blackburn I think have looked better especially Roberts up front who i really hope can stay fit all season because I do think he's quality.
Samba's also looking a threat when he gets forward for set pieces!

Aside from the forwards, City is fairly average on paper.

maybe Nick...maybe...but as long as they have Steven Ireland they will always have one bit of quality in midfield! Cool, calm...thought he'd wasted his chance but he kept it and put it away with ease!

Glad we won, even if it took us 90 minutes to do so. We deserved it. Cant believe Arsenal thumped Everton 6-1 at goodison park! There is definitely somethnig for Moyes to go and have a think about. I wonder if part of the blame can be laid at the feet of Lescott and all of his transfer gossip?Might have distracted the team a little bit.

a solid and proffesional performance and apart from a a short period after half time Wolves hardley threatened us the two missed chances we had that were cleared off the line yet again highlights are need for another striker.

We are absolutely s*** today. Horrible. The only good thing about us so far is our work rate. The game itself is a rather dull one so far. Reina made some excellent saves, but he was no where near the goal, which was understandable. Gerrard needs to motivate the lads, Torres needs to get involved more, Skittles needs to stop fouling outside the box, Carra was fairly good (other than colliding with Skittles), Lucas is alright, Babel was decent, I want Johnson to get forward a bit more, Insua got caught in possession a few times, Kuyt was nonexistent, Reina was the star of the half on our side I think. Spuds deserved that goal, were controlling play a bit more than we did. But like I said, its a very dull game so far, with both teams workrate stopping any creative play as the commentators put it. Blah. We have GOT to come back and at least get a draw out of this. If we come out fired up, i think we can come back and get the full three points. Put Yossi in, in place of Babel and we'll be good. HT: Tottenham 1-0 Liverpool

I can't believe anyone is writing off our season after the first game. We were pootr but Dowd is an incompetent c*nt. Can somebody tell me what the diifference is between knocking a man off the ball with your feet/legs in the penalty area is and doing it with the rest of your body? We should have had a penalty when Voronin was knocked off the ball and the linesman needed glasses missing the handball.
The FA want players to respect match offiicials. I suggest they employ competent ones instead of c*nts like Dowd who aren't fit to referee Sunday league games.

Ahhh f*** off with that! That was no way a penalty. The defender didn't lunge in, he didn't trip him up, all he did was tap him. If anything Voronin went down to a little love tap!!! I thought the ref was alright, let the natural flow of the game work out and was decisive when he had to be. Some might disagree but I don't think it was a penalty

What about the handball, no don't tell me, "it was ball to hand". The point about the Voronin incident is that the Spurs player didn't get anything on the ball at all, just knocked Voronin clean off it while he was ready to pull the trigger (he'd probably have missed anyway ). I'm not just saying this because it's Liverpool, I'd have said it was wrong regardless of the team.

dont think the second one was a penalty, the so called hand ball. The first one probably should have been though.

Well at ref training I found out why hand balls are seldom called now. A new rule was recently put in place that if it appears to be accidental, they cant call it (I still will be probably, accidental my ass). So they will probably be letting a lot of those go unless its a Hand of God a la Maradona The old rule was that if it hits you anywhere on the arm when its not in a natural running position, call it. This is gonna be a nightmare.

Chelsea gifted a soft free kick on the edge of the box, then 6 minutes to get the winner new season, same s*** I guess. We didn't deserve to win, though we certainly should have had at least 1 more penalty. Read ^^ above.

Chelsea gifted a soft free kick on the edge of the box, then 6 minutes to get the winner Yeah the free was a gift but they didn't ask for the 6 mins and they only really needed 1-2 soooo... more like new season, same s***-ty Liverpool lol

Chelsea don't ask the ref for anything, they surround him and tell him what IS going to happen. Oh and if same old s***** Liverpool means we're in the title race right until the death again, I'll take that

bit harsh to say the ref had a s*** game cos he didnt, it was just one bad decision. the handball wasnt a penalty at all. the voronin one was because the defender made no attempt to get the ball but apart from that he let the game flow pretty well.
i'll tell you right now i have seen far far worse refereeing performances than that a la mark clattenburg for example. you cant blame the ref because you played s***

nah andy, i still think he did. i was pretty pissed off before that penalty appeal too. he was being inconsistent with his calls. and you are right about the handball actually, i watched it again and it actually hit his chest. the voronin one def. shoulda been called though as it was denying an obvious goal scoring oppurtunity, and he made no attempt to play the ball; so it shoulda been a red card and a penalty by law. and i know we were s***, im not blaming the ref for that, but he was s*** on top of us being s***, and thats a lotta s*** in one game. but now enough of the shoulda been and coulda been, and more of the can be and will be only first game of the season, we improve and move on!
