Preview:
Tottenham take on Burnley on Tuesday, coming from a 3-1 win over Wigan on Friday which quite impressed me. However, Darren Bent is now out injured, and Spurs have very few fit players to spare with many sitting on the bench that have not started or featured at all this season. Aaron Lennon has probably returned to full fitness, and Ledley King will probably start the match too, giving a huge boost to Spurs. Redknapp will be all out to win the Carling Cup and will be fielding his strongest team possible I believe.
Burnley had a bright start to their Championship campaign, and impressed me with wins over Chelsea and Arsenal in this cup. Normally I would not hesitate to take them to produce an upset, but they had two quite disastrous games over Christmas against Doncaster and Barnsley, both of whom sit near the bottom of the table. They have a very acute personnel crisis, with only 17 fit players available for their lacklustre 0-0 draw with QPR in the FA Cup. The situation is improving, with Jordan returning from suspension and McCann & McDonald possibly shaking off injuries to feature. In my opinion they will probably set up more conservatively than they have against Chelsea or Arsenal, play for the draw, and then make a stronger performance at home in 2 weeks time when more players are back from injury.

real shame. 4-1 did not reflect the game at all. had burnley taken a few more chances early on it may have been a completely different outlook. a draw would ahve been fair for me, or maybe spur 2-1, but 4-1 is ridiculous.

O'Hara changed the game quite dramically. brought on at half time, first touch was his assist from the corner, then he scored....
they come out that second half as a different team lol.

It goes to show how much of a game is determined by morale and determination.
Redknapp must have really given an earful in his half time team talk, and Burnley, who played with such confidence in the 1st half, were shaken after the first goal and just couldn't recover at all.

i think burnley had tried too ahr dint he first half. there were the 2 injuries and the fact they looked knackered after 60 minutes made me think they played their hearts out 1st half. Thye had very little left after 60.

burnley deserved to win. no way should tottenham have come back from that. just think, had the last goal at white hart not gone in, then it might have been such a better ending for Burnley

I'm glad Tottenham won because I don't want pathetic little clubs to get to finals as it makes the competition look s****.
