Anyone else think this would be a good idea? Can you do it? It would stop some threads looking a bit confusing due to these weird guest posts. Also some people delete it in the heat of the moment or by accident and then have to sign up all over again and start from scratch. I dont really see the point of it either, if you want to leave, just stop posting, at least your account is still there for you if you change your mind.

i agree with you but i dont think its possible. J would know far more about it than me but i doubt its possible

Due to the Data Protection act we can't stop a member from deleting their account. I know on other websites members don't have a option, but they do have the right to request for their details to be deleted. We have no way of turing the feature off as its a Proboards standard feature (our hosts)

Ah well. How about if you got rid of it but they had to PM James or Dan to get it deleted and then confirm the request? That wouldn't be breaking any laws and would at least buy them some time to calm down and change their mind.
