Looking forward to it. Its my birthday on Saturday and I'll be in a pub streaming from the internet Tottenham and West Ham matches in different rooms, should be interesting, especially as one of my mates supports Arsenal!

If we play anything like we did last night then in short, we're fucked

Pompey will be a good test for us. A decent team to open the season, but a very beatable one.

Should be an easy win on paper at home to WBA, but you never know, especially considering how light the squad is at the moment.

home record against Wigan, has not been to good in the last few seasons and I reckon this will end in a draw.

WBA dont stand a chance aginst the Gooners. And I hope Hull stay up this year, they were so good last year. Boro will win aginst Spurs with a clean sheet, dont know how many goals there will be though. I wish all the other teams good luck today aswell, and oh, Happy birthday Peter.

1-0 win, not very convincing but great to see Nasri score on his league debut

Its great to start the season with 3pts but my only concern would be after going 2-0 up within the first 10 minutes we failed to kill the game off and allowed Wigan back into it

Good point against Man U! Could have went either way tbh, and were full of energy until the very end, a very professional performance overall. Jonas Gutierrez was class awell, i really think hes going to be a top top player for us and he was my man of the match all the way, so god knows how Nicky Butt got picked only the hapless N'Zogbia was worse. Other than that, most people played great, and Colochinni looks decent aswell. Man U can point to not having tevez or ronaldo, but we didnt have Owen or Viduka so ho hum. Its nice to see it happening to the big teams for once.

wooohoooo well done Newcastle, who was the bloke up front with long hair and where did he come from? looks a very handy player. Happy with 3 points of course for us, Sunderland were very resolute but that why we have Torres, all he needs is one chance and he can win the match. Can't believe Alonso nearly did it again as well! he's probably been our best player throughout pre season, sod Barry! and Keane nearly scored a cracker, hope he gets off the mark soon

Newcastle actually looked like a top table team...something they haven't looked like in a while now. Really impressed with the debutants. Both look good.
I noticed that keegan was really buzzed up for this game, good enthusiasm about him and the team reflected it. they didn't just hoof it up when defending but played it out of danger...sometimes at a good risk but mostly to great effect...AND WHAT A JUMP FROM MARTINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

wooohoooo well done Newcastle, who was the bloke up front with long hair and where did he come from? looks a very handy player. lol thats Jonas Gutierrez (not quite sure if he wants to be called Jonas or Gutierrez), hes an argentinian right winger from Real Mallorca, looks the real deal! The thing that impressed me most was the it wasnt just the one attack, he just kept on bursting down the line right until the end. Could we actually have bought an expensive unkown that ISNT a flop?? Take that boumsong, luque an co!!

Newcastle, by the looks of things, did very well to take a point from Old Trafford.
Fantastic to see Hull get off to a dream start!!

Take that boumsong, luque an co!! Yeah he was very lively, chased everything which came his way, certainly looks a promising player. Like Niall said, I was impressed by the way Newcastle brought the ball down at the back and passed it out when they were under pressure rather than just hoofing it and inviting more pressure. Then again, perhaps just a fluke with Ronaldo missing

Well United had a sticky start last season as well, so I won't read too much into this result.

Pompey have a rough start to the season. Manchester and Chelsea in there first two games is always going to be very tricky. I think that Man U will win 2-1. With Crouch scoring Pompey's Goal.

I am not particularly impressed with our start to the season. We look really dis-jointed against Sunderland and Boro' but as it's been said many times title winning teams eek out wins when they're playing poorly so there maybe hope yet. I still don't think we'll win the league.

very tough game our confidence is shot to sh*t right now and you can only wonder what the reaction of the crowd will be if we are losing at h/t and playing badly.
