enter LIVE chat
Introduction
Since a few people have asked for this in the past, we're going to trial a new chat feature. The new feature is a cross between a live chat room and a shout box.
The old chat we had was live so you had to be logged in to view any messages. The new chat stores every message posted whether your online or not and is placed at the foot of every page - or you can open it in a new window for ease of use.
How to use the chat
If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, your username and screen name is in the chat title, you may use one of these two names to post in the chat, please don't use anything else; doing so may result in you being banned from the chat and/or the main forums.
We highly recommend you register your name for the chat (only takes a couple of seconds). To do this, enter one of the two names assigned to you in the name box in the chat and click "profile" in the bottom right corner, enter your password and save, your name is now protected and no one else can use it.
The chat room features
Auto refresh: Like MSN, you never need to reload the chat room or page your viewing, all messages posted by anyone will appear automatically.
New message sound: The chat will play a short click sound when ever a new message is posted so you are notified of other members in the chat room.
Registered names: Please be aware that the chat room is moderated by the usual forum moderators and everyone's IP is logged, this way we can cross reference chat room posts with the forum to see who is posting to help us protect against impersonation etc.
Auto remember: The chat room remembers your name so you never need to login of enter your name to chat, just type your message and hit enter!
Fully integrated with the forum: You can use all the same smilies in the chat room that you can the forum, as well as all the same style tags; bold, italics, colour etc.
