Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has been passed fit after sitting out Saturday's 2-0 Premier League win over Fulham with a neck injury.
The Reds skipper trained on Monday and is set to start in the Anfield clash.
Frank Lampard will be available to play for Chelsea after missing the past two games on compassionate leave because his mother is ill with pneumonia.
Goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini (hamstring) is out, while striker Didier Drogba remains doubtful with a knee complaint.

The last two times these two met, the first leg was at The Bridge and Liverpool ended up winners, this time it is started with Anfield many supersticious people out there?

can see it being another close game but hope fully Liverpool can score a couple of goals and keep a clean sheet.

I was shocked by the attitude of a lot of chelseas players, they were playing like they didnt give a damn. Im not quite sure what it is exactly that Grant means when he talks about 'giving players freedom to play' because it very clearly isnt working at all and the team just look unprofessional.

What the fuckin hell was Riise doing? Why did he attemp to head it from that range? Unbelievable. Also the ref went over the 4 minutes whhile the ball was over near the corner flag. Sets up an exciting second leg though.

Sets up an exciting second leg though. i think the ball went out at about 93:57, so you cant really blame the ref for that.

yet again it was another pretty drab game between these two teams I turned off in trhe 3rd minute of injury time so had no idea Chelsea had equalised and was certainly very supprised when i heard the result.
