Well, the day has finally arrived and I don't think anyone's mouth will not be watering at the prospect of this clash of two of Europe's heavy weights. I hope the game lives up to the billing.
Come on Barca!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For patriotic reasons i'm hoping for a United win. But that is outweighed by the fact i despise my glory hunting mates! Haha! C'mon Barca!! Hope it dont go to extra time because i forsee a boring encounter for some reason.

It better not go into extra time! I have exams to study for and need my rest!!!
Setting aside the bitterness of our 'defeat' to Barca, this Final does have awesome prospects. Two very attractive teams when it comes to passing the ball on the pitch. Also, i must say, I am glad to see a final between two CHAMPIONS again, none of this 4th vs 4th nonsense or whatever.

I'm not holding my breath for anything spectacular. Barca will have the majority of possession, hit United with their usual pass - pass - not score routine. United will get them on the counter, Ronaldo bullet from fairly long range. The ref told me. *prepares to eat words Oh and I see a United fan has already been stabbed, didn't see that one coming

Shame, the poor knife To be honest, even if the football isnt what everyone is expecting it to be, the whole event atmosphere is entertaining even for those who dont fllow football. Love seeing the crowds singing and all that

What can you say, there was only one team playing in that Final...Barca 2 - 0 United.
Barca outclassed United in every part of the field. Not one of uniteds players pitched up for the game. It wouldnt have been flattering if Barca had won by 3 or 4. Great team. Messi was absolutely amazing, I would love to see people call him overrated after that. Made Ronaldo's performance look like that of a child...which is kind of fitting seeing as he was acting like one for most of the game

I dont think Messi was that better than Ronaldo, if the goal had gone to Ron instead of him people could be saying the opposite, as Ronaldo looked pretty threatening until they scored.
It was a poor performace by Man U, they just didnt seem to get the midfield back to defend at all, there shape through out was terrible, but that could just be down to how good Barca were. This has really proved to me that Man U's CM is there weakness, they just dont have a world class player to play there like Iniesta, Xavi, Gerrard, Lampard, Essien etc imo, and thats where they need to strengthen. Im glad it was incedent free though, so they can have no excuses, so it will be interesting to see if the Man U fans are still gracious! It will be strange.

And if England loose their qualifiers, I might just start watching Netball. Awful season for me.

Those first 10 minutes aside, United were pretty anonymous really, very disappointing. Completely outclassed by a technically brilliant team......continues backtracking........although I didn't think Messi was that good, a little selfish on the ball a few times. Oh and did I mention? woooooooooooooooooooooHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Apparently Whiskey nose went into the ref's dressing room at half time and said to the ref 'ref we need a new match ball'. The ref asked 'what's wrong with the ball we've got?'. WN said 'Well Barcelona are playing with that one' : Patrice Evra said after the semi final against Arsenal that it was 'men against babies'. Last night he was very much a baby, a baby that couldn't stop Messi, despite all his swagger that he would. I could go on all day, but strangely this morning I find myself feeling a bit sorry for United. They were simply outclassed by a far superior side. Even stranger, I found myself admiring Ferguson for his magnaminousness. Though it was great to see the big-headed c*nt humbled. There aren't enough superlatives around to describe Iniesta and Xavi..simply superb. Barca made United look amateur. Ronaldo was pathetic, well they all were really...weak, very weak. It was a great game with the perfect outcome!

i didnt think messi had a brilliant game at all, done well for the goal but apart from that didnt do much. iniesta and xavi were the ones who won them the game, they were amazing, got to be the best midfield in the world that, totally played united out of the game. we didnt deserve to iwn by a long shot although we were dealt a sucker punch as there first goal was against tej run of play but we were always chasing the game after that and we never looked likely.
our strength going into that game was our defence but our defence played s*** and barca's played well. saying that, i'm not sure anyone could stop iniesta and xavi in that form

It was especially satisfying considering all that was said in the press in the build up, ie Barcelona are over-rated, they bottle it against English sides, their makeshift defence will be found out, La Liga is rubbish, etc etc....
Really pleased to see Henry pick up a winners medal, even if he wasn't playing for us, but that's where the pleasantires stop, let's hope we pay them back next season for 2006.

Either way he was struggling and owned like the rest of the babies against men. So are you a closet Man u fan then or what? .

Safe to say Barca licked United's arses in the midfield area, Iniesta especially and Xavi were awesome. Tbh a United side playing to their full potential could've given Barca a closer game. All in all a good nights work

eto was on the right wing look at where he cam from his 1st goal that just shows messi was central all game not on the right wing!!

It was a fluid formation, they interchanged a lot from what I saw...but yeah, Messi was predominantly playing in advanced central midfield....

I I wouldn't agree Barca are a far superior side if im honest, they just were far superior on the night! I think this Messi nonsense is ridiculous aswell, bar the goal he was not that much better than Ronaldo. Iniesta and Xavi were the stars, I think Iniesta should win player of the year! Thats where Man U are missing big time aswell. Especially as the veterans get old aswell, the need some world class CMs as I dont think they have any these days, they need another Iniesta or a young scholes/keane!

Iniesta is fookin class. I have watched him many times, and each time he contributes something to the squad. In my opinion, he is better than Gerrard and Lampard. Not by a lot, but skill wise I think so.

Yeah Iniesta was one of the main reasons why Spain won the Euros, and hes been good throughout the champions league rounds. Ive probably seen him play more than messi!

That's rubbish Greg. Apart from the first 10 mins Ronaldo was an onlooker in the game, whereas Messi was involved in a lot of Barca's play. He was running at United's defence. Ronaldo had a terrible game and by his own admission he didn't even know where he was supposed to be playing.

We can all agree that he's a top player, but I haven't heard anyone say he's the best in the world, except maybe a Man player the other day (can't remember which one)
