I've not read the morning papers yet but I wonder if Fergie was lambasted for showing no respect to the competition fielding mostly youth players, I know Rafa would be.

^^ Anyone would be. But yeah, Everton must've got their heads up as soon as they saw that team sheet.

I know, what a hypocrite, I thought Everton was a big club and deserved respect To be honest, I don't blame Riley for not calling it a penalty. SkySports showed all these different angles, and the one that they showed where Riley was at, it looked like a foul, but not enough to be a penalty. But from the reverse angle, it was a blatant penalty. The announcers were saying that you should never call a penalty unless you are absolutely sure, and clearly he wasn't sure. This is the first and last time I am ever going to defend Riley... -Waits to get kicked in the ass-

I thought it was a clear cut penalty too. Thank god the game wasn't at Old Trafford. In Ferguson's defence (eww it hurts typing that), he had three trophies to think about, but he deserves what he got after saying Rafa dis respected other clubs.
I hope Everton win the final now. Not particularly because I dislike Chelsea but Everton are the underdogs and I have a lot of respect for David Moyes and what he's done at Everton. If Chelsea win it would be nice for Hiddink to leave with at least one trophy.

You have to be absolutely 10000000% sure its a penalty. That's what a lot of refs haven't been doing. It bugs me! I'm taking my ref classes now so I am getting into the minor details, but I think you get the point I am trying to make

sorry but for the so called best ref in the league you have to call that, you might not have clearly seen the contact but what he could see is that it was clearly a genuine fall.
i disagree with the 1000000% sure thing, if you had to be that sure every time you give a penalty, nobody would ever get a penalty

If a ref called a penalty for Man U each time Ronaldo dived in the box, that wouldn't make sense now would it?

what i'm trying to say is that you can usually tell if someone's diving but that clearly wasnt a dive so you have to call it

To be honest, I actually like Jagielka. Think he is a good defender who has passion for the game unlike some players in the Premier League. He is the only Everton player I like though, I swear ;D Actually I like Howard, but that's cause he's from the U.S. I feel for Jagielka right now, knee injuries suck, and it sucks even more when you have to miss a cup final because of it. Been there done that. After all the hard work you put in, it all comes down to a bad step, a bad cut, a bad tackle, or just losing your balance, and nothing more can be done about it, just months of rehab. Everton is really gonna miss him in the finals though.

Jagielka is the typical English centre back, solid, gritty and full of heart. Awesome player. Gutted for him, really am.

All true but Jagielka is also sueing West Ham for the damage being relegated with Sheff Utd did. Can anyone explain to me how getting a move to FA cup finalists and soon to be in Europe, Everton, a much larger salary and now a place in the England squad had been damaging to him in any way because I'm fucked if I know??? Maybe he should pay us something for advancing his wages and career.
