Thought maybe the United and Chelsea fans would wanna talk about this now, I know I never shut up in 2005. So, from a neutrals side, who are you backing? It's a tough one for me. Maybe if United go all the way they can finally step out of the shadows of the mighty Nottingham Forrest. ;D

Just been watching Sky, Ashley Cole was hurt in training. Thoughts? Come one, the game is tomorrow and this thread is DEAD!!.

Not great to hear about Cole, but Bridge is a more than useful replacement. Although for me, Bridge doesn't have coles x-factor.
The game is hard to call, both teams have done very well this season and i think are deserving finalists. United are very good on the attack and can break teams down, chelsea on the other hand are very good at stopping teams from playing and many have found them impossible to break down. In this sense i think the match is going to be strategically very interesting. However, i am not expecting a free flowing open final. I suspect united will also sit back a bit because they know chelsea will catch them if they push forward too much.
I cant wait man!! i think it is going to be a 2-1 or 1-0 game, not sure which way though. Im just going to follow my heart and say that this is chelsea's year!! COME ON YOU BLUUUES!

The Football Arena is an online football manager that you can play on your computer. The only thing you need is the internet browser [read Mozilla Firefox] and a bit of your free time. To manage a football team is a big commitment. However, it is not necessary to be online everyday. In fact, it is enough to check your team once or twice a week to set league, cup and friendly matches line-up, to see training results and maybe to buy some new players. The Football Arena is an online football manager, where you compete with other players from many countries all over the world. There are both league matches and national teams. www.footballarena.orgYeah, I think they'll win too. Good prediction....

Don't really care for either team winning it, would be funnier if it was Chelsea though - particularly if the Mancs are cheated by the ref.

YOU f****** LUCKY ***** united totally controlled that first half, should be 3-0 up easily and them lucky b******* get an equaliser of ferdinands f****** back, they do not even nearly deserve to be drawing. on the plus side ronaldo, rooney, hargreaves and brown have been immense.

haha was kinda funny that, Lampards shot didn't take a deflection but it took a couple which gave him the opportunity. How on earth has Tevez not scored? 2 really good chances missed.

on reflection of the whole game 1-1 is probably fair but if we'd have taken our chances in the first half then we'd have won it, chelsea got well lucky

That was a really s*** final, I'm left bitterly disappointed. The entire champuions league this season for me has been very poor and this has been the icing on the cake as far as boring goes.
United were on top for the first half, Chelsea were dominant for the rest. I told my dad that ronaldo would miss, even still it was obvious that United would manage the win. Congradulations to them...oh and Rooney was s*** AGAIN!
Oh and another thing...Grant WTF? the champions league final, Shevchenko...the man was f****** built for nights like tonight...especially penalties and you don't give him a chance.
Drogba...I'm not even going to bother trying to explain that...maybe later...

Lucky win by United, they can thank the poor turf conditions. HOW ON EARTH CAN YOU SAY THAT!!!!! although the game was evenly balanced, one half each. united created the better chances. (carricks, tevez had 2 and giggs. all should have been scored) chelsea didnt create a lot compared to united. on top of that their goal was lucky as f***. it took two deflections off united players before it fell beautifully into lampards path wrongfooting the goalkeeper. on the stroke of half time and totally against the run of play. United's goal however was just awesome all round, beautiful one two from the throw in, beautiful cross and a beautiful finish. all that and you think united were lucky? we thouroughly deserved that. ohg and also, chelsea were an absolute disgrace tonight. joe cole, makelele, carvalho, essien, drogba, and ballack in particular were shouting and surrounding the referee at every opportunity, they need some f****** discipline

Did you not see the attacks of Chelsea in the second half? Let's not forget Lampard almost put away that blistering shot. They can thank the turf for JT slipping, as van der Sar was helpless. So the referee blew some significant calls against Joe Cole; and even then, he had a quick say and walked away. Like you wouldn't be upset if the referee didn't call a corner kick when it clearly was, in the pinnacle game of European club football? Joe Cole said maybe one or two things, and walked away. Essien was not near the ref at all, neither was Drogba; in fact Drogba never once complained to the referee about any call except the sending off. And the same thing about discipline can be said about Ronaldo, who could be tickled with a feather and collapse to the ground like he's had his leg broken.

I guess, they did hit the woodwork 3 times (including Terry buggering over and hitting his penalty against the post)
Though I agree on your latter point, their conduct throughout was f****** disgusting - it beggars belief how Mascherano can be banned for 3 games when that was absolutely nothing compared to what Chelsea get away with week in, week out, their attitude absolutely stinks.
I could never really come up with many positives for either outcome of this match, but the longer the European cup goes without Chelsea's name on it the better.

On one thing I forgot to say, I thought Chelsea were very unlucky with the decisions tonight - actually, at one point it was quite laughable how many stupid calls were going in United's favour.

I think at one point, there must have been 5+ corner/throw in decisions in a row which went the wrong way in Uniteds favour. I had to pinch myself in the shoot out - has Ronaldo just lost the Champions league final for the Mancs? but, alas it wasn't to be. Equally wanted Chelsea to lose anyway - but I guess, you can't have it both ways

"Didn't create a lot? Did you not see the attacks of Chelsea in the second half? Let's not forget Lampard almost put away that blistering shot"
lampard had one shot and drogba managed to hit the post. drogbas was just a snap shot and i'd hadly say it was well worked by chelsea, the goal wasnt created by chelsea either so all in all i can remember one chance that chelsea made. man u created far more.
"They can thank the turf for JT slipping, as van der Sar was helpless."
man u played on the same turf as chelsea, man u just adapted better, thats chelseas fault not uniteds. it wasnt the turf anyway it was the rain that made him slip.
"So the referee blew some significant calls against Joe Cole; and even then, he had a quick say and walked away"
i'd hardly say charging towards the referee whose half way down the other end of the pitch and shouting his head off is a quiet word and then walked away. i think the first time the ref blew the whistle in the whole match, the entire chelsea squad surrounded the ref who made the decision in their favour anyway. its not just tonight , their conduct has been a disgrace all season
"And the same thing about discipline can be said about Ronaldo, who could be tickled with a feather and collapse to the ground like he's had his leg broken. "
watch the match again and watch to see whther ronaldo dived even once, i will bet a tenner right now that he never. ashley cole on the other hand

LMAO at Terry crying his eyes out at the end, what a big baby. Thought the Mancs dominated the first half, don't know what happened to them in the second, Chelsea could have really punished them but seemed more concerned with mouthing off at the referee and giving girly slaps (Drogba!) had to laugh at the supposedly unbiased commentators calling Drogba a big jessie. Is it possible for that guy to stay on his feet if someone so much as breathes on him?

As a neutral I think the game was pretty even but Manchester Utd just edged it over all - but i'm delighted Manchester United won and even more so that it was Terry who missed his penalty.

Glad we won, Chelsea did well 2nd half, I enjoyed the game though, I think Essien was a bad choice at right back, was like he wasnt even there each time Ronaldo went past him.

Poor Lampard. He's the only one in that side that I actually felt sorry for at the end. Well, no, Makalele too. He's been quality throughout his career.
